Get to know Me

Hello! My name is Rhonda Weninger. I was raised on a farm near Anamoose, North Dakota. I received my Bachelor of Science in Education with a major in Art from Minot State.

In the last few years, I have won several awards and my artwork has been featured in numerous exhibitions and performances across the state. My painting, Color of the Night, was the top artwork of the year (2015-2016) while I was employed by Gallery on the Go. My painting Broken Boundaries was awarded a Merit Award at the 2021 Juried Student Show at the Northwest Arts Center and my photograph "Lost in Thought" was featured in the Americas 2021: All Media exhibition at the Northwest Arts Center. In June of 2023, I had my first solo show at the Taube Museum of Art: "Point of No Return." In October 2024, my artwork "The Butterfly Effect" and "Imperceptible" were featured in Dance +,  a contemporary dance concert that features local art.

I reside in in Velva, North Dakota with my two daughters and our cat Spike. In my free time, my partner Calvin and I enjoy bowling, golfing, thrifting, making art, and attending events that expand our cultural appreciation.

Why I do this

I love making art for others and  helping them celebrate milestones (senior night, 1000 kills, graduation, etc.) I am influenced by graffiti and street artists use of block lettering and bold colors to captivate their audience.

How I work

I currently work full time as an admissions counselor at Minot State University. I require at least two weeks notice to create your art as I make art in the evenings and weekends.
